Updated 17 October 2026 · applies to Carrom Crew 1.0.0 and later
Carrom Crew is made and published by Abdulla Alhashmi, an independent game developer ("we", "us"). We decide how the data described in this policy is used and are responsible for it. You can reach us at youtubeabdulla@gmail.com with any question about this policy, to ask what we hold about you, or to have it corrected or deleted.
We do not sell your data for money, and the game has no analytics of its own. Carrom Crew shows ads delivered through Unity LevelPlay, which fills them from our ad partners Unity Ads and Google AdMob. These partners process some device data, such as your advertising identifier, to show and measure ads. They are asked to personalise ads only if you allow it (and, on iPhone and iPad, only if you also allow tracking). See "Advertising" and "Your ad choices". Your game progress is stored on your device. While the game is online it keeps a small online profile on our server for friends, leaderboards and online play, which includes your trick-shot star totals and the optional gender and flag shown next to your name (see "Friends and leaderboards", "Gender and flag (optional)" and "Online matches"). Sign in with Apple is optional on iPhone and iPad; if you use it, a copy of your progress is kept on our server so it loads on your other devices (see "Optional Sign in with Apple and cloud save"). If you chat with your friends, our server keeps your messages for up to 30 days (see "Chat with friends"), and the medals you earn are shown with your online profile (see "Medals"). You can delete your online data in the app at any time (see "Deleting your data").
g-…) created on first launch. It contains no personal information. This lives in the app's private storage. To erase it, use Settings → Privacy & data → Reset all data or uninstall the app. Reset all data keeps only your age group, because the age question is asked once on each device.
On iPhone and iPad you can use Sign in with Apple from the sign-in page or from Settings → Account & name (it is not offered to players under 13; see "Children"). Signing in is never required: guests can play everything. We never see or store your password. From the sign-in we keep: the sign-in provider (Apple), the account id Apple gives us for Carrom Crew, the e-mail address you choose to share (Apple lets you hide it; we then receive Apple's private relay address instead), the random guest identifier of the device you signed in on, which links the account to your online profile, a session key (stored only as a one-way hash) that keeps that device signed in, and the token Apple gives our server for your sign-in (a "refresh token"), which we use only to ask Apple to revoke Carrom Crew's Sign in with Apple access when you delete your account. We use the account id to recognise your account. We use the e-mail address only to show you which account you signed in with and to confirm it is you if you write to us; we never send you marketing e-mail. The session key and the refresh token are used only as described above.
In the current version of the app, when you sign in, the app first shows you whether an account already exists for that sign-in. Until you tap Create account (or choose which progress to keep), our server holds the sign-in result (the account id, the e-mail address and, for Apple, a one-time code or the token it was exchanged for) only in its memory, for up to 10 minutes, and creates nothing; if you tap Not now it is dropped, and for a new account the token is revoked, which removes Carrom Crew from your Apple Account again. Older versions of the app create or open the account in one step. We also keep when your account was created and when its cloud save was last updated; the current version of the app shows both in Settings → Account & name.
If you use the current version of the app to sign in on a device to an account that already exists, that device's previous guest profile is merged into your account: its friends, friend requests and blocks move to your account's profile, and the rest of it (name, character, gender, flag, friend code, rating and results) is deleted from our server. The app shows you this before you confirm.
While you are signed in, the app uploads a copy of your game progress to our server and loads it when you sign in on another device: your display name, gender and flag settings, level, XP, trophies, owned items and characters, purchases such as Remove Ads, missions, achievements, trick-shot stars, cup, Weekend League and weekly ladder progress, streaks and best times, your 20 most recent match results (including matches against the computer: result, opponent's name and mode, XP and time), your 20 latest inbox messages and the ad counters. Older versions of the app upload the same and also your settings, the random guest identifier and your ad choice. Items and purchases already in your cloud save stay in it, even if an older version of the game uploads a copy without them. Signing out keeps your progress on the device and stops syncing; the current version of the app first sends a last copy of your progress. Only one device at a time stays signed in to an account. We never pass your account, e-mail address or player id to the ad partners.
Deleting your online data or your account removes your chat messages from your friends' screens at once; we keep a hidden copy for 14 days so that abuse can still be reported, then delete it. Reports you made, and reports other players made about you (with the copies of reported messages), are kept for moderation (see "How long data is kept"). Data held by the ad partners is not stored by us; see "Your ad choices" for how to ask them.
Matches against computer opponents, trick-shot puzzles and the lessons are played on your device, and the moves you make in them are never sent anywhere. Some results do leave the device: your trick-shot star totals go to our server for the leaderboards (see "Friends and leaderboards"), a copy of your progress and recent match results is uploaded if you are signed in (see "Optional Sign in with Apple and cloud save"), and when an ad is shown after a match the ad partners receive the data described in "Advertising". Ads are never shown during a match or during the lessons.
If you play online (a quick or ranked match, or a room with a friend), the app connects to the Carrom Crew match server to pair you with another player. During the match the server receives your display name, your chosen character, your gender and flag (unless set to Hidden or No flag), a temporary session token and your moves (striker position, aim and the resulting board), and relays them to your opponent, who sees your display name, character, gender icon and flag. Your opponent's game also receives the disc set you play with and, once the game has linked the match to your online profile, your pseudonymous player id (see "Friends and leaderboards"), so that your opponent can send you a friend request for 24 hours after the match. Your opponent also sees the medal shown next to your name, if you have one (see "Medals"). Your moves are kept in memory only while the match is running and are not stored. The result of a ranked match (winner, loser, how the match ended, rating change and time) is stored with your online profile so ratings and leaderboards work; the results of quick matches and friend rooms are not stored. For every online match (quick, ranked or a friend room) the server keeps the pair of the two players' ids in its memory for 24 hours, not stored, only so that the two players can send each other a friend request. The server does not store your IP address beyond the open connection. In a match you can only send the built-in stickers and phrases. Chat with friends is described below.
A few seconds after you finish the first-launch screens, and whenever the game runs with an internet connection, it connects to the Carrom Crew server by itself, even if you never play online (after you use Delete online data it waits until you go online on purpose; see "Deleting your data"). The server then keeps an online profile for your device: a pseudonymous player id (a keyed hash of the random guest id created on your device — not a device identifier, your name or your e-mail), your display name, your chosen character, your gender and flag (see "Gender and flag (optional)"), your friend code, when the profile was created and last seen, your rating and online wins and losses, your trick-shot star totals (all-time and this week, which the game sends by itself whenever it connects, after each match and when you open the leaderboards) and your friends list. Other players can see your display name, character, gender icon, flag, rating and star totals on the leaderboards, including the public Trick shots and This week boards, and your friends can see whether you are online. Other players can send you a friend request with your friend code, from your row while you are on a leaderboard, or for 24 hours after an online match with you; you choose whether to accept it. If you decline a request, the server keeps the pair of player ids for 7 days so that the same player can't ask again right away. Friend invites carry your name, gender icon, flag and a private room code; they are held only in the server's memory, not stored, and disappear from your friend's screen after a minute. The rating of online matches is worked out by the server from the match result. To have this profile deleted, see "Deleting your data".
You can show a small gender icon and a flag next to your display name. Both are optional, and you can change or remove them at any time in Settings → Account & name.
Your gender and flag are stored on our server with your online profile and shown to other players next to your name: in online matches and on their result screens, on the leaderboards, in friends lists and in friend invites. We use them only for that. We do not guess your gender or country from anything else (such as your name, character, IP address or the ads you see), we do not use them for ads or analytics, and we never pass them to the ad partners. When you choose Hidden or No flag, our server keeps no gender or flag for you. Deleting your online profile or your account deletes them (see "Deleting your data"). Computer opponents show their character's gender icon but never a flag.
You can chat only with players you have accepted as friends. Quick messages and stickers are fixed texts and pictures. Typed messages are up to 120 characters, and only players aged 13 and older who have accepted the Chat rules can send or receive them.
Our server stores each message (who sent it, to which friend, the quick-message or sticker name, the typed text or the room of an invite, and the time) for up to 30 days and at most the last 100 messages with each friend, so that it arrives when your friend is offline. It also keeps which messages you have read, which friends you muted, whether you accepted the Chat rules and your typing setting, with your online profile.
Typed messages are checked automatically and refused if they contain bad words, links, e-mail addresses, phone numbers, other contact details or requests for private information. We count refused messages per player and day (the number only, not the text) to spot abuse; counts are kept 30 days. Typed messages are never written to the server's logs.
A person only looks at a message when it is reported. A report keeps a copy of that message and up to five messages before it, which can include the reporter's own messages, for up to 90 days, or longer when the law requires it. If someone reports you for sexual messages or for asking for personal details, typed chat may be paused automatically until we review it.
Removing a friend, blocking a player or deleting your data removes your chat with them from both screens at once. We keep a hidden copy for 14 days so that abuse can still be reported, then delete it.
You can turn typed chat off in Settings → Friends & chat; quick messages and stickers stay on.
The first time you open this version, the game asks for your year of birth. We do not store the year: your device keeps only whether you are under 13 or 13 and older (and the year you turn 14), and our server keeps the same group with your online profile.
Players under 13 cannot type or receive typed messages, see only ads that are not personalised and meant for children, are not asked for tracking or about personalised ads, are not offered Sign in with Apple, keep the gender Hidden, and their name shows as "Player" on public leaderboards. See also "Children".
The medals you earn in matches are kept in your save and shown on your online profile, so friends and other players who open your player card or a leaderboard can see them. Your opponents in online matches see the medal shown next to your name. They are deleted with your online profile.
You can report another player's name or behaviour and block players from the Leaderboards, Friends and online result screens. A report stores your pseudonymous player id, the reported player's display name (and their player id if they have an online profile), the reason, the match id if any and the time, so we can review it. You can also report any message a friend sent you by tapping it; that report also keeps the copy of messages described in "Chat with friends". Blocking stores the pair of player ids. Names reported by several players are hidden, and offensive names are refused.
Carrom Crew shows two kinds of ads:
The ads are delivered by Unity LevelPlay, the ad mediation service of Unity Technologies (formerly ironSource). For each ad, LevelPlay picks an ad from one of our ad partners: Unity Ads (Unity Technologies) or Google AdMob (Google). Their software in the app collects the data below and sends it to them; we do not receive it. They use it under their own privacy policies:
The ad partners use this data to deliver ads, to choose which ads to show, to limit how often you see the same ad, to measure how ads perform (which is how we are paid), and to detect fraud and invalid traffic. If you have not allowed personalised ads, we tell them so and they are asked to show only non-personalised ads, chosen from context such as the game and your approximate location rather than from a profile of you; they still process the data above to deliver, limit, measure and protect the ads. Their policies: Unity (Unity LevelPlay, ironSource and Unity Ads), Google and how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
Ads need an internet connection. If an ad cannot be loaded, you simply keep playing. We do not choose the individual ads that the partners show; if you see an ad that seems inappropriate, please report it (see "Reporting an ad").
We share data only with these companies, only for the purposes described here, and we never sell it. Each of them is bound by its own privacy policy, its agreement with us and the App Store and Google Play rules to protect that data at least as well as this policy describes.
If you see an ad that seems inappropriate, misleading or broken, use Settings → Report an ad (in the Ads card, right below Personalised ads; Settings → Contact support and Settings → Privacy & data have the same button). It opens your e-mail app with a report to youtubeabdulla@gmail.com that already contains the details of the last ad shown since you opened the game (reward video or ad between matches, the ad network, the ad's creative id, the ad unit and the time), the app version and your device's operating system; if no ad has been shown since you opened the game, the report says so. Add what you saw (a screenshot helps) and send it; nothing is sent until you send the e-mail yourself. You can also simply e-mail that address with the game's name, the time and, if you can, a screenshot. We use a report, and the e-mail address it comes from, only to look into the ad (for example to have it blocked through the ad partner) and to reply to you.
Carrom Crew sells optional cosmetic items (strikers, disc sets and effects), character packs and bundles, Elite, Phantom and Zenith characters (each with its own set of items), and Remove Ads through the Apple App Store and Google Play billing. Purchases are processed by Apple or Google Play; the app only receives a confirmation that the purchase succeeded, and we never see your payment details. Buying never requires an account: on iPhone and iPad a guest is asked whether to save the purchase to an account and can always buy without one. Purchases stay with your App Store or Google Play account, and if you are signed in, what you own is also kept in your account's cloud save (see "Optional Sign in with Apple and cloud save"). Each time the game starts it re-applies the items you own, such as Remove Ads, once the store has answered; after a reinstall or on a new device they are brought back with Settings → Restore purchases, which works with or without an account. The Everything Bundle is no longer sold; if you bought it, Restore purchases still brings back everything in it.
You can ask us at any time for a copy of the data we hold about you (also in a machine-readable format), to correct it, to delete it, to restrict how we use it, or to object to a use based on our legitimate interests, and you can withdraw a consent you gave (for example with the Personalised ads switch) without affecting what was done before. E-mail youtubeabdulla@gmail.com; for an online profile, include the friend code from the Friends screen (the Player ID in Settings → Account & name) so we can find it. We answer within one month. Depending on where you live, you may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
Carrom Crew is rated 13+ on the App Store. Its built-in content is suitable for all ages, and the game is intended for players aged 13 and older; it is not directed at children under 13. The game never asks for a real name, address, phone number or location, and asks for a year of birth only to tell whether you are under 13 (the year itself is not stored); the optional gender starts as Hidden, and the optional flag is a country or region you choose to show, not your location.
If a player tells us they are under 13, the game limits what it collects and shows. They can send and receive only quick messages and stickers (fixed texts and pictures, no typed messages); their ads are child-directed and never personalised, and we tell the ad partners so; the game does not ask them about tracking or personalised ads; their gender stays Hidden; their name shows as "Player" on public leaderboards; and Sign in with Apple is not offered to them, so we receive no e-mail address and keep no cloud save for them. So that they can play online and with friends, our server keeps only what the game needs for that, as described in this policy: their online profile (a pseudonymous player id, the display name they chose, character, optional flag, friend code, rating, star totals, medals and age group), their friends and blocks, and the quick messages and stickers they exchange with friends (up to 30 days). We use this only to run the game and keep it safe, never for advertising, and we never contact them. A parent or the player can delete it at any time with Settings → Privacy & data → Delete online data, or by e-mailing us the friend code from the Friends screen. A player who was already signed in with Apple before telling the game they are under 13 keeps that account (Sign out and Delete account stay available); a parent can also ask us to delete it. For everyone else we tell the ad partners that the game is not child-directed. If you believe we hold information about a child that we should not, contact us and we will delete it.
The app uses network access (for online play, friends and leaderboards, the optional cloud save, ads and store purchases), the store's billing service for purchases. It does not use the device's vibration. The Android version declares the advertising ID permission used by the ad partners, and on iPhone and iPad the game asks once for permission to track (App Tracking Transparency; never players under 13). It does not access the camera, microphone, contacts, device location or photo library; the suggested flag comes from your device's region setting, not from your location.
When the app changes how it handles data, we update this page before that version is released; the date at the top shows the latest change.
